City Council approved a cull of problem deer at Monday night's meeting, along with five more recommendations from the Urban DeerManagement Advisory Committee, in order to deal with the urban deerpopulation in Cranbrook. Over three successive Saturdays in November 2010, the committee conducted a deer count over the city and found an average of 92 deer, which is 3.7 deer per square kilometre. By comparison the City of Kimberley reported a density of 20 deer per square kilometre.
