... Cranbrook's deer cull is almost a done deal. A permit to kill up to 25 urban mule deer is days away, said Chris Zettel, the City of Cranbrook...Last November, Cranbrook's Urban Deer Committee counted the city's deer population ... It found there are 92 deer that live within the city's boundaries; 82 of those are mule deer. That means there are 3.7 deer per square kilometre, or 3.3 mule deer per square kilometre....Kimberley's deer count last fall found an average of 20 deer per square kilometre....
