... The hunt was held on the weekends of Jan. 5 and 6 and Jan. 12 and 13. Using archery, the First Nations hunters harvested a total of seven deer over four days.  But the hunt raised the ire of local residents — who were upset with any type of hunting in the park — and non-aboriginal hunters who felt they should have been allowed to hunt, too.  “I’m not arguing native rights, it’s that no one should be allowed to hunt in the park,” said Robin Zavitz, whose property backs onto Short Hills.
