Local decision makers often cite unattributed expert opinions about appropriate deer densities for urban and suburban environments, but these number vary widely - sometimes based on local conditions. Below are reliable sources and, farther down the column, examples of the wide range of density recommendations, usually expressed as deer per square mile.
